At the Vancouver Jazz Festival, the Atomic Concert, and then on to the Iron Works for the final show of the night. Sometimes Jazz doesn't even have to sound like music--it can just mimic the sounds of human digestion--the odd burp and we instantly have a masterpiece. I wonder if Beethoven had stomach problems as a result of the arsenic in the local water--that's perhaps why he was such a genius. Even the inability to hear perhaps gave him some insight into the strange and yet beautiful rhythms of the human body, digestion in particular.
